Instead of setting a hard daily limit that you just ignore, Sundial introduces a Behavioral Pacing System. It wraps your addictive apps in timed sessions, turning endless scrolling into a finite activity with a clear beginning and end.
How It Works
- Apply Timed Sessions: Select the apps you want to pace — like Instagram, TikTok, or News. When you open them, a session timer begins. You can use the app freely, but you are no longer lost in the feed — you are in a bounded session.
- Seamless Protection: Sundial runs in the background. Using Live Activities and the Dynamic Island, you can see your session time at a glance without leaving your app. It protects you without interrupting your flow.
- Rest & Reset: When your session ends, the app locks. This is your cue to disengage. Sundial enforces a short “Rest” period, breaking the dopamine loop and giving you a moment to breathe.
- Start With Intention: To start a new session, you must physically hold the “Sun” button to charge it up. This small moment of friction ensures that every time you enter an app, you are doing it by choice, not by reflex.
